Amy Nelson

Bio

Originally from the St. Louis, Missouri area and currently based in Georgia, Amy Nelson is a mixed-media artist known for her use of plexiglass, in large-scale installation works and other sculptural forms that impact how viewers perceive and interact with the spaces around them. Nelson earned her BA in Art from Illinois College in 2012 and her MFA in studio art from Georgia Southern University in 2022. She has exhibited in galleries and with collectives in Savannah, Statesboro, St. Louis and elsewhere.

Managed the Urban Arts Collective, including scheduling art shows, distributing calls for

artists and assigning spaces for exhibiting artists.

 

Imagine Art Foundation Jacksonville, IL // March 2010 - August 2011

Facilitated the creation of art galleries in nontraditional spaces. Recruited artists to exhibit their work.
